The Resettlement Director (RD) is responsible for working closely with the resettlement and employment units to ensure that the local refugee resettlement program of Catholic Charities is managed effectively, reach or exceed performance goals, and remain compliant with all Federal Government rules and regulations. The RD will assist the VP in providing local program direction, policy guidance and leadership through collaboration and partnership with refugee service providers; local, state and federal officials and other members of the community which work closely with the refugee populations. Additionally, this position directly supervises two managers in the areas of resettlement services and employment services. The RD will demonstrate competency in the areas of leadership, organization, federal grants management, community relations, personnel practices and fiscal management. 


  • Provide daily oversight, guidance and support to the following units:  resettlement services and employment services.
  • Oversee all funding awarded by provided by United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) as well as CCSN’s local funding received from the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).
  • Responsible for preparing, completing and submitting of USCCB’s grant applications and capacity surveys. 
  • Responsible for maintenance of the database necessary for program management and collection of information to properly complete the reports.
  • Conduct internal monitoring and review to ensure program and fiscal compliance including creating and updating program forms and manuals.
  • Ensure that quarterly reports, trimester reports and annual reports submitted to USCCB and the State Refugee Office of CCSN is accurate, complete and timely. 
  • Maintain all appropriate documentation, files and work papers in relationship to reports, grant applications and communication with USCCB.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other members of the Migration and Refugee Services (MRS) team to ensure that all units are working together effectively.
  • Assist the VP in advocating for refugee concerns and issues within the state, local and federal branches of government and community partners.
  • Coordinate volunteer participation and collaboration efforts with community partners.
  • Assist in capacity development in terms of enhancing resettlement services and employment opportunities for refugees.
  • Ensure professional development and training to direct and indirect reports.
  • Represent the agency by attending refugee community events and other agency meetings.
  • Meet with refugee communities to determine their needs.  Based on information gathered, provide recommendations and resolutions to VP to address those issues and/or highlight best practices.
  • Follows agency and program policies and procedures.
  • Assumes the lead role in the Immigration and Migration Services in the absence of VP.
  • Protect all confidential information, company property and electronic data.  Comply with safety rules.
  • Other related duties as directed.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook and internet research.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Public Administration Management or related field from an accredited college or university. 
  • Minimum of four (4) years of work experience in the field of refugee resettlement and/or grants management is required. 
  • Prior management experience is required.
  • Flexible schedule to work after hours and weekends, as necessary.  Must be able to travel out of town on as needed basis.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily works in office environment, but will also work throughout the agency and off site.
  • Ability to communicate with donors, volunteers, board and co-workers.
  • Ability to operate and use office equipment, especially computer, keyboard and mouse.
  • Ability to continuously sit and/or stand.  Ability to climb stairs as needed.
  • May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
