Position Summary: 

The Meals on Wheels (MOW) Delivery Driver is the most significant point of contact for the Meals on Wheels program.  The Delivery Drivers ensure that all the meals are delivered in a timely fashion to all clients enrolled in the program.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Inspect delivery vehicle for safe operation and for proper refrigeration.
  • Assist with loading meals and other food product, along with other items that are needed for each day’s delivery.
  • Review Route Sheets to ensure all needed product is placed in the vehicle for delivery.
  • Review new starts and restarts and put them in the proper delivery order.
  • Deliver meal bags and any other items to service recipients per the delivery route sheet.
  • Be kind and respectful to service recipients during the day’s delivery.
  • Conduct a wellness check of all service recipients and immediately report any unusual behavioral or reported problems/needs.
  • Follow all established delivery and client service procedures.
  • Document all deliveries and non-deliveries on route sheet, including whether the person was seen.
  • If service recipient is not seen, contact MOW office so emergency contact can be called to ensure the individual’s well-being.
  • Return all undelivered product to the MOW warehouse at the end of the day.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and check in with supervisor.
  • Clean delivery vehicle and report any vehicle maintenance concerns that may have been identified during the day’s delivery.
  • Protect all confidential information, company property and electronic data.  Comply with safety rules.
  • Other related duties as directed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.  Ability to maintain open communication with other employees, volunteers and clients.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize work and meet necessary deadlines.
  • Sound judgment to ability to work autonomously.
  • Must have working knowledge of vehicle maintenance and service.
  • Proficiency in computers and software including Microsoft Office. 
  • Ability to follow maps and directions.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must have two or more years of delivery experience and knowledge of communities in the area.
  • Must be at least 25 years old, a valid Driver’s License with current minimum Nevada state required auto insurance.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to communicate with clients, volunteers and co-workers.
  • Ability to operate and use office equipment, especially computer, keyboard and mouse.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle throughout entire shift.  Ability to regularly enter and exit vehicles.  Ability to continuously sit and/or stand.  Ability to climb stairs as needed.  
  • Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds.  Regularly carries 25 pounds. 


This position pays $14.00 per hour.
